Craig Swope
Craig Swope and his wife Mary moved to Carson City in 1983 from their home state of Iowa—and he’s been behind a microphone ever since. For the past 20 years, Craig has been a familiar voice on Evans Broadcast, covering the morning shift with enthusiasm and heart. He says as long as his voice holds up, his motor skills stay sharp, and Evans Broadcast will have him, he’ll keep showing up to start the day in the studio.
Craig and Mary enjoy exploring the outdoors with their dog, Oci (Oh-chee). Some of their favorite hiking spots include White’s Creek, Galena Creek, Spooner Summit, Ash Canyon, and Prison Hill. When they're not on the trail, you might find them golfing or heading off for a weekend getaway to places like Graeagle, Bridgeport, June Lake, Austin, and Ely. They are also active in their church community, where they find joy in fellowship, good food, and most importantly, a shared faith.
